They'll be about 14 months apart, if my edd is correct.
Remind me again how far apart your boys are. It's about the same isn't it?
Re: ::DG::
yep. not quite 14m.
I never would have planned to have them this close, but it's really been pretty great. I mean, it's crazy hard and all-consuming, but Dex is too young to realize he should be jealous of the baby, so we haven't seen outbursts or regressions from him like we would have if he were older. In fact, he is great with Desmond - always wants to pat him, tell him bye in the mornings, check on him when he's crying. It's very cute.
We still have to watch him, because he doesn't realize how rough he can be, and if Des is on a playmat, Dexter doesn't necessarily realize he needs to watch where he steps.
I mean, it's never easy to juggle 2 kids of any ages, but I think I'll gladly take this over the drama that could have otherwise been. And we have the bonus that they will (hopefully) be BFFs as they get older.
I agree with your H about the drama of 2 teenaged girls, though. Yikes. I'm a bit paranoid about 2 boys constantly egging each other on (and feeding them as they go through puberty at the same time), but I look at my goddaughter and her sister (who are 16 and 13) and am glad I won't have that drama to deal with.
