Empire State College -SUNY

Anyone know about Empire State College - SUNY? I am seriously thinking about getting my Masters from there, especially because it has so many online courses available and lots of one-on-one counseling with professors.

I love Baruch, CUNY but they do not seem to be flexible with online course options.

Thanks for any input.

  • Hi girlie! I know my brother took online courses with them and really liked it. I want to say he got his associates degree that way. =/ But, I just left him a message a little earlier to call me back, so once I s/w him I will ask him about it. =)

  • I was going for my bachelor's degree and I liked it a lot. I only stopped after my son was born because I had no time for classes.
  • Both my father and my boss went to Empire State and they both loved it.  The flexibility is excellent and the faculty/administration seem to really work with the students, especially concerning transferring credits from other universities, etc.  I've only heard good things.  Good luck!
  • Thanks for the feedback ladies. I may be getting assistance with funding my studies so I need to think this through. Thanks again.

  • Are you thinking about an MPA?  If so, I know the Baruch program is really great and well respected.  One of the directors in our development dept did their program while working full time.  Are you thinking about online courses for convenience sake only?
  • Hey Jen:

I really need the convenience especially since DH and I are thinking of TTC soon. Plus at my current job they are not too picky about the school to be honest, you can have your Masters from like any country almost. I was looking at Masters in Social Policy
