Anyone have any opinions on Stallworth signing with the Ravens?
I have head a lot of outrage on other forums, but I'm actually surprised by that. From what I understand, the man he hit was walking across a highway, between cement blocks... It seems like even if the driver was perfectly sober they would have hit him. It's just that Stallworth happened to be the one, and he happened to be driving under the influence.
Not to say it?s OK to drive under the influence, but he did stop. He did not deny anything, he didn?t make excuses. He took responsibility for his actions.
Re: Donte Stallworth
I think it's fine. He's owned up to his actions, is trying to put it behind him and knows that what he did was wrong. I think it's a good signing for the Ravens.
If Vick can come back, so can Stallworth, IMO.
The way things are right now, I do not see any reason he should not come back. There are definitely others in the league who have done illegal things.
However, I would potentially be ok with them implementing rules about being convicted and no longer being able to play.
