I'm really not familiar with baby shower etiquette. Do the grandmas-to-be traditionally host them?
Re: Who hosts baby showers?
I read some where that Mothers are not suppose to host for their daughters. it was for some crazy reason like it looked like they were just trying to get her daughter gifts. but isnt that the point of a baby shower? any who I just looked it up and traditionally it is suppose to be a non relative. then it goes on to say that now in days it doesn't really matter and it is more common to have a relative host one. my boss hosted one for me, this last year I hosted one for my little sister, and my mother in law paid her coworker to host on for the sister in law. I don't think it really matters:)
are you thinking about planning one? its so much fun... well, I really enjoyed it!
Thanks, ladies. My friend is having a baby in July and I was talking to her about when her shower was. She indicated that she didn't know because she wants to be surprised (..haha, AW). This is the same flakey girl who was late to her own bachelorette party, a champagne brunch cruise on a local lake, that I ended up stalling an entire boat of people for. (The ONLY time in my life that using "puppy dog eyes" accomplished anything...)
So all i'm thinking is, whoever hosts it... it's not gonna be me!
I wrote her mom an e-mail last night asking when the shower was, and only after that did I stop to think ... wait... do moms (grandmas-to-be) host the showers?
