Okay. Coat #3 isn't available in my size. So here's another option:

#1. Versatile, easy to wear, and very on-trend while still being a classic piece that will hold up (stylistically, at least) for years.
#2 is too trendy, and #3 is too casual for all situations.
I like #1 but I would like it better without the under-boob ruffle.
Did you see the purple velvet jacket on LB.com that is on sale for $40 (marked down from $120)? It was only available in a 14/16. If I could fit into that, I would be all over it.

IMO, all of those are too heavy for LA weather. Plus, they're very much east coast style vs. west coast style if that matters at all.
ETA: #1 would probably be the best choice.
I'd also suggest a twill or cotton fabric vs. wool
