What do I do???

Hello ladies...

There is a girl on my boards who has a website in her siggy. I clicked on it and it closes my browser. When I google it, it turns out that it is a website where they sell fashion jewelry.

She hasnt really been posting but she said she is trying to transition to coming back to the boards.

This is my first time having to deal with something like this. What do I do?

  • PM her and let her know that she can't have a link to a business in her signature, bio, anything.  Basically, if you can connect her Knot name to a business via a link, she is subject to being banned (email Knot Annie if you need to do this just to bounce it off her).  Usually the Knottie is pretty receptive to taking the link out, or they will quit posting because they have no reason to be on the boards if they can't advertise like they thought they could.

Here's a PM I sent to someone with an Etsy store link in her signature or post (can't remember).

    Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that I deleted one of your posts that had a link to your Etsy store in it.  It's against Community Rules to promote your business on the message boards of The Knot.  If you're getting married, you're welcome to post here - but you have to choose to be a bride and not a wedding vendor.  Hope you understand!

    Thanks :)
