Refrigerators...why do you love/hate yours?

So with the new house whenever we close (hello snag, get out of my way please), we'll have to get a refrigerator.  We're thinking a side-by-side, but MIL has one and it seems like there's just not enough room.  I thought abou a french door one, but when I end up pregnant, do I really want to be leaning down to pick up stuff out of the freezer? Tell me what you have and why you like it or hate it?

Unless you are planning on giving Michelle Duggar a run for her money your fridge will last a LOT longer than you will be pregnant, and uncomfortable at that. When we redo our kitchen this spring we are getting the french door fridge becuase they rock my socks.

  • Ours isn't a French door but it IS a freezer on bottom and I love love love love love it!  I'm digging around my fridge way more than my freezer so it is very handy.

  • We have a side-by-side that came with our house and it's ok.  I don't hate it but I really wish I had more room for stuff.  Especially in the freezer.  If/when we do buy a new one, it will definitely be a french door one with the freezer on the bottom.  Ditto MT, that fridge will last a lot longer than your pregnancy will.

  • We have a side by side and I HATE it! There is no room at all and I'm always complaining about it. I really want a french door one....they look much more spacious! I wouldn't worry about leaning down to get in the freezer....you won't have to do it for long. Plus I have to lean over in my side by side and root through the freezer and fridge.

Good point! Now to convert DH to the french door way of thinking! And get our financing straight so we can put the offer on the table!

  • I'm late as usual but I have side by side...it sucks!  Can't fit a pizza box in it and it is hard to organize since there is not much room.
