Makeup peoples

I need some help. I'd like to get a palette of eyeshadows. I like most of the colors in the Alice in Wonderland palette but Min was saying they are sparkly. I want something without a ton of sparkle for day to day wear. I'd like it to have several browns, a green shade or two, and some gray/black colors that I can do a darker eye in. I'd rather buy a palette because I just can't see myself buying a ton of pots of color, and I frankly don't have the money to buy all the colors I'd want. I'd rather get a whole bunch and buy the ones I really love after they are gone.

Also, recommend some inexpensive eyeshadow brushes. I don't particularly love mine.

  • The only palette I have is Shadow Insurance from Too Faced. Everything else I buy by the pot, so I can't really help you there.

But, I do have a set of brushes from Eco Tools that cost under $10 at Target. They're very basic, but I like the stiffness of the bristles and they're very soft. Otherwise I tend to buy the individual brushes from Sephora. They're more expensive but I can't live without the rounded crease brush (13), smudger (14), and smokey eye (24). I use them all almost every day.

  • This may be a bit overwhelming, but try a matte palette whether it be 88 or smaller.

This would be a good one to start with.  I know people rave about Coastal Scents and their quality vs. money so it would be something to start and you wouldn't be out tons o' money if you didn't care for it.

As far as brushes go, Sonia Kashuk at Target has a line of brushes that are fairly good for the price, actually pretty good for the price.  Get a flat brush, a domed brush, and a flat or angled eyeliner.  You could do a lot with those.
