So I posted that Ineeded some ideas and got some from you all not toolong ago. Well I have been really sick and not been able to respond and or do much since then. Her party is this sunday and dh took off with the baby and i'm feeling good tonight so I need to get out and buy some stuff.
We got the music, food and drinks set , but this is where i need yoru help.
The plan was to set up tables like someone set with nice linens and maybe some nice flowers in vases throughout the house.
Well we can't have flowers, two reasons, one not only is one of my cousins who is pregnant going to be ther has allergies to perfumes and flowers but me too. I"m pregnant and really have bad allergies with perfumes and I went to go look at some and I got a huge migrain and was sick for dayssss with a headache. So no flowers.
She likes the color green like the sage green or light green, so maybe baloons in that color? Do you tihnk just keeping it all the same color or should i choose another color to make it look prettier? ideas?
The only other thing I can think of but not sure how this will look but I have a few small square vases that since I can't use flowers maybe her favorite candy? she lovesssssssss chocolate any kind too! I dont know if this will look dumb but I just dont know.
I"m open to any ideas for centerpiece ideas and or decoration ideas. Mom doesn't have enough nice linens and I dont have any either. Will the plastic dollar store ones look bad? I wanna say yes but what other choice do i have? I wouldn't even know where i can find some right now that wont break the budget.
Help. Tia
Re: Need your help again for sisters 30 th decor ideas
If you can't do flowers, you could always do fruit. Citrus fruits look beautiful in vases either sliced or whole. You could always rent linens. The plastic ones are going to look cheap, so I would avoid them if possible.
When I threw my last event, not all of the tablecloths matched, and it looked just fine. If your mom does have a tablecloth or two, I'd take them to Targe or Khols. They both usually have sales going on, so maybe you could find something to complement what you already have. I agree w/ Kim, I would avoid plastic at all costs. Maybe you could borrow from other family or friends??
As far as centerpieces go, do you have a "theme"? I could come up with some ideas to match.
Otherwise, I've also seen where people use deserts as the centerpiece - as in get a few pedestals and put a nice cake/dessert on them. Other ideas: candles and lots of them!!! It will make the event look classy. Spread flower pedals, rocks, glass stones around the candles. I'm totally not in favor of fake flowers, but in your case, it might make sense. Would this work for you??
GL!
What about some pictures of your sister as centerpieces? (Pics of her as a kid would be great conversation pieces)
Also-
Floating candles, fruit (as PP said)
If she loves chocolate- you could almost make that the theme... and personally I think saige green and brown look nice together.
As far as the table cloths go- I would said unless you would use the cloth ones for certain types of tables, and the dollar store ones for other types of tables (tables to sit down at vs. tables with food) I think you might be better off just using all of one kind, even if they are the dollar store ones. I dont think they look bad, if they all match, (esp, if they coordinate with the theme).
What about using fake flowers for your centerpieces instead of real ones. Michael's and Hobby Lobby have some that acutally look real. For my wedding (on just the wedding party table) I got a few candle votifs and put those flameless candles in them.
