Anniversary Help

So the post below got me thinking again about our anniversary.  Our schedules are crappy right now and I am having a hard time coming up with something nice that will work.  I am hoping you lovely ladies can help me out!

Our original plan was to rent a cabin a couple of hours from here and go hiking.  We were going to go the weekend before our anniversary (our anniversary falls on a Monday), but I am taking an accelerated class that meets one weekend (20 hours over the course of the weekend) and of course it happens to be the weekend we were going to go.  So then we were going to go on our anniversary and just take some vacation time from work.  Now I realize that I have my Biochemistry Lab on Tuesdays and I can't miss it.   We can't do something quiet at home because we are still living with my FIL while our house is being built.  Plus now, I am looking at the price of the cabins and I don't really want to spend that much money.  Can anyone think of anything relatively inexpensive we could do that wouldn't interfere with my super crappy schedule?

Drinks  and Cake if you got through that Smile

Re: Anniversary Help

  • Could you save money by pitching a tent at the same place you were renting the cabin? You could go the weekend after your anniversary. Sleeping in a tent under the stars is super romatic!

This. Maybe you could do an evening out to dinner and booking a hotel room locally...just to get out of the house...?
  • last year we rented a room at the radisson in covington and had dinner at the revolving restaurant there.  dinner was super yummy.  the hotel is sort of outdated, but it was nice to be somewhere other than home.

  • These are all good suggestions!  I am going to run them by DH and see what he thinks!  Thanks ladies Smile!
