Skincare

I am looking for a new skincare and makeup line that is eco friendly. I have looked at alba, physicians formula and origins. Origins is a bit expensive. What do you use?

Re: Skincare

  • I really don't use much on my face.  I started using Bare Escentuals a few years ago before I cared about being eco-friendly, and haven't run out so I can't help with makeup.  Just about a month ago I decided to start being nice to my face, so I'm in the process of trying moisturizer and eye stuff before moving onto a night wrinkle cream thing.

Up until a month ago, I was using Alba's Green Tea & Aloe moisturizer.  But, I wanted something with SPF protection.  I was able to get a sample of Devita's Solar Protective Moisturizer and of Juice's Tinted Moisturizer.  I used the Devita first and fell in love.  To be fair, I tried my Juice sample when I ran out of the Devita; I've been using it for 3 days and my face is SO broken out with cystic acne that hurts so I'm definitely going back to the Devita.

I loved the Devita moisturizer so much that I decided to try their Under Eye Repair Serum.  Unfortunately, I don't love it.  It doesn't smell very nice, it pumps out of the bottle weird and I keep squirting some on the counter or floor and it's expensive!  So I'll try something else next time.

  • Try avaandersonnontoxic.com

I would also check anything you plan on buying at cosmeticdatabase.com

  • You should look at your local health food store.  They should carry some options and maybe even local options.

  • I just bought DH Alba pineapple enzyme facial cleanser. It was $12.99 which I didn't think was outrageous considering it was a decent size. I'm an esthetician and a lot of the products that I love aren't EF. Really annoying!
