Sony E-Reader, Kindle, Nook, I Pad...
Which do you have or want and why?
I was looking at the I PAD but realized it is just a glorified I Phone. I like that you can use the internet on it.
Re: Sony E-Reader, Kindle, Nook, I Pad...
I have the B&N nook. I was first interested in it because I prefer the bricks-&-mortar aspect of B&N vs. Amazon (although I also buy from Amazon). And when I had the opportunity to check out the nook in person at my local B&N (an opportunity never afforded to me with the Kindle), I fell in love with the nook.
I have an iPod touch. I don't think I need a bigger version of that, which is what I think the iPad is at this point. Maybe in the future...but the backlit screen means it would not be an e-reader for me. It would just be another gadget in my life.

I've got an iPhone and a Kindle (but that I just got on Friday). I'd say the iPad is more of a oversized iPod Touch, as you can't make calls with it.
Really, you need to look at what you want to do with it. If you're interested in an e-reader then something like the Kindle or Nook is probably better, because it's eInk instead of a LCD screen. Much easier on the eyes for long bouts of reading.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
I have an iPhone that I downloaded the free Kindle app on. You could also DL it from an iTouch.

this is me almost exactly. I love my nook so far.
I just got rid of my iphone, but the ipad looks like a glorified ipod touch to me. And the backlit screen means it wouldn't be a good ereader for me, because the glare would bother my eyes.
I have a Kindle an I love it. I have had it since November and it is really great. I love that I can download a book anytime with the whispernet technology. I have an Itouch and know people who read books with the kindle app. Personally for me it would make my eyes tired looking at the glowing screen to read.
If you are an avid reader I think the Kindle or the nook would be good options they both have pro's and cons.
