What one person has most help you succeed in life?  How did they help you?

DH. He's given me the confidence to go for my dreams and makes me feel like I'm smart enough and capable of doing it. Before him, I never thought much of myslef and definietly would not be an engineer nor opening our own company today.

I would say my maternal grandmother and mother (I know I said just one...) have helped me most. 

Both felt very strongly about me getting a college education and at least a master's degree.  They supported me emotionally and financially every step of the way.

My mom, in different ways.  When I was young she instilled so much discipline in me with regard to school/education.  Because we didn't have homework in first and second grade, she would get me workbooks and flashcards to do after school.  She insisted that I do my work right when I got home from school.  When it came time to start applying for college, she kept track of all of the deadlines for scholarships and ensured that I stuck to those deadlines.  Although I went to a suburban school, I grew up in a low income area, and I can honestly say that I don't know anyone with the same circumstances from my school that is as successful as I am. 

On the other side of things, my mom had a terminal illness, and I knew from a fairly young age that I would have to take care of myself.  It taught me a lot of personal responsibility.

I would have to say my dad.  He did everything to make sure I got good grades, went to college, grad school...and thanks to him (and my mom too) I graduated with no student loans, which helped me get a great start after college.  He was also really involved when I participated in sports and other activities.
