How was your weekend?

Re: How was your weekend?

  • Friday L went to happy hour with co-workers. The boys and I did our regular routine.

Saturday morning we went to the Amish Market for breakfast (yummy french toast) and then to sports class. Grayson got his hair cut at the gym and we put them in childcare and worked out and had lunch there (LOVE our gym.) After nap we made a bad decision and went to the mall to try to return Gray's new shoes (the velcro was coming off after 2 weeks.) The place was a mad house. Ended up eating dinner at Red Robin and getting the kids to bed really late.

Sunday we did some cleaning and ran some errands. We spontaneously decided to get a sitter and go to a movie. Went and saw A Single Man, which was really good and got Mexican take out on the way home. The kids took forever to go to sleep I got sucked into this blog....*get a tissue* http://enjoyingthesmallthings.blogspot.com/2010/01/nella-cordelia-birth-story.html

  • I still cant beleive its Monday - our weekend went by so fast!

Friday we had a trial run at our first mini medical emergency.  DW got a call from daycare saying Rosebud was having trouble breathing to the point of retracting.  Retracting infant = big problem, so we dropped everything and raced to get the kids.  turns out they were overracting a touch (she giggled and laughed when DW walking into the room to get her :) and after some saline spray and a steamy shower, she was fine...well, at least back to her normally congested self.

Saturday morning we went to a new children's museum (they had a dinosour exhibit which is just about the coolest thing ever when you are a three year old boy) then we dropped DW for her doc appointment while the three of us went for a walk in the warm-ish weather.  In the evening we went to a friend's house for pizza and wii which was a lot of fun.

Sunday morning we were up early for a really nice playdate with our lesbian mom's group.  It was at a new play place we hadnt been to before, but it was perfect.  Only kids 6 and under, playscapes, a bus to drive (Sprout spent at least an hour driving that bus), an organic cafe, and lots of couches for moms to sit and chat and ooogle over babies :)  In the afternoon DW took Sprout to chuckie cheese and I hung out at home w/ and unusually cranky Rosebud (i swear, if its not one, its the other on sunday evenings!).

And now I'm dying to hear about Two's weekend!!

Sounds awesome!  Glad to hear Rosebud's scare was just that!

  • We had a great (and busy!) weekend.

Another great birthing class on Saturday.  I'm so so glad we were able to find a Bradley class that fit our schedule.  We both love it and really feel like we are going to be very prepared for our birth, no matter what happens.

Then we did some shopping. We picked up moving essentials like paper plates and cups, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper and handsoap for the house, and got some newborn essentials for Henry Smile - plain onsies, sleep sacks, receiving blankets, and a pack of disposable diapers (just in case).  Then we had a nice dinner out.

Sunday we did the grocery shopping, stocking up to cook some big meals this week, so that we can freeze them and eat them our last week in the apartment (I would love to not have to cook that whole week!!), and then it was off to our cloth diapering workshop, which was great!!

It was at a local CDing store (thanks again for the rec ssg!!!!) and was basically "Everything you need to know about CDing."  I had previously done a lot of internet research, but it was so great to get to see the different diapers in person and hear first hand accounts and opinions (the store owner has two kids about 1 yr apart, so has been CDing with two babies for quite some time now!).  Afterwards, we did some shopping at the store.  We don't have everything we need, but it's definitely a good start, and I'm going to some shopping around online for the rest.  C loved the class and is now so excited about CDing that she wanted to return the disposables we bought on Saturday, LOL.

After the class, we packed and cooked until we couldn't take it anymore, and then collapsed on the couch to watch some tv.

  • Our weekend was OK. We actually did some socializing Stick out tongue and ripped out our carpet. That is it really!
  • We had a rough time with LMC. She screamed for most of it and we had to call her therapist, we were desperate.

We went out for a whole hour alone on Friday, big night out LOL! Still, an hour was a nice break and just long enough to grab a little dessert.

We went to see my  mom Saturday, which was so nice. I needed her hugs and it was a nice change of scenery. She bought all kinds of snacks for the girls and even some special things for us. Once a mom always a mom I guess :-)

Sunday we took the girls to a local farm and let them feed the animals and we picked up some local produce. It made an impression on LMC because this morning she asked if we were going to see goats today.

  • I was off last week so it was a really long weekend

Thursday I went outlet shopping and bought some cute stuff for E and some birthday stuff for S.

Friday we went to the museum of fine arts.  It was great (although really busy!)  E loved it and was a dream!  She loved the french impressionists and would shake her rattle excitedly at the paintings she really liked.  We had lunch at the fancy restaurant (since it was the quietest and E gets overstimulated easily.)  It was grand and I had a mimosa and a cheeseburger....perfection.

Saturday S was out all day having brunch with friends and shopping and E and I hung out and made this photobook for S's birthday.  I made a birthday cake for my nephew and friends came over for dinner.

Sunday we were in nh for a family birthday party (S, bil, fil, and nephew).  It was nice and I even got to nap for an hour with E upstairs.  It was great!

I am back at work today and sad that there are no days off until April!  I am going to play hooky next week so S and I can go on a tour of the montessori school which I am very excited about.

Duchess sorry lmc is having such a hard time I hope it gets better soon.

Brit glad you liked the cloth diaper place.

Ct I am jelous of the play space.  When we are done with lock down perhaps we will take a road trip to check it out.  Is it a chain?

2brides is there anything your gym doesn't do?????

  • We didn't get much on our list accomplished, but had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. We watched movies (Secret LIfe of Bees and Sunshine Cleaning--both Yes), spent time with friends and just generally enjoyed one another's company. Great weekend!

  • The weekend was fun, but felt too short without the snow adding a few extra play days. We ate out a lot, which is really rare for us. Saturday we went to go see that documentary about our garden and discovered that we had a bigger (and hilarious) part in it than expected. We weren't sure if people could tell that we were a couple and not just two crazy women gardening together but folks came up to us afterwards and clearly got that.

Sunday we went shopping and bought some work clothes for spring, which I wish was here already. We stayed up too late watching Big Love and doing laundry so I'm a little tired today.

  • Friday night Carol had to work and her mom offered to take Annie til Carol got off so I was home alone and slept! It was heavenly.

Saturday we made some big progress on the house. There is so much to be done.

Sunday was planning our menu for the week then a trip to Costco and the grocery store. We are really trying to be better about not eating out anymore and having things on hand to make meals at all times. We are really working on budgeting our food dollars too.

This morning Annie had her 9 month appointment. 70th% in height and 80th% in weight. I have a big girl. Then she had to get blood drawn. :o( She did really well though. She sat on Carols lap and I held her arm while one of my coworkers took her blood. Then she got lots of fawning over and cuddles to make up for it from my coworkers.
