Supreme Court to review GMO alfalfa

I must admit, I didn't understand a lot of this, but the jist is the Supreme Court is going to be reviewing the procedure for the GMO alfalfa case, not the case itself.  Basically,  Monsanto is fighting the current ban (imposed by the Ninth Circuit Court) on planting GMO alfalfa and has taken it to the Supreme Court.  They're not waiting until the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is approved.  Oral argument will likely occur in April 2010, and a decision is expected by June 2010.  This doesn't look good for the environment though, in the Supreme Court?s last term, it reversed every Ninth Circuit opinion involving environmental laws.  The Supreme Court could decide that putting an action, like planting GMO alfalfa, on hold until the EIS is completed isn't allowed anymore.  So proponents can do what they want while the environmental review is being done.  That's great, just great.
