POLL: Dream vacation

Since it's a Monday, and most people still have lots of snow... where would be your DREAM vacation be? What kind of things/activities would you do there?

Re: POLL: Dream vacation

  • I have been looking at cruises, and they have these around the world cruises... I'm talking like 100s of days! And they pretty much take you everywhere. They're REALLY expensive, but maybe DH and I will do that one day as a retirement present to each other. Cruise around the world for a year... sounds awesome.
  • I just got done traveling this weekend, so travel right now isn't my thing.  Instead, I'd love a day at the day spa.  Massages, body scrubs, facials... all the non-hurty stuff.

  • DH and I are both really into art and history and we've been talking about taking a trip to Southern France and following a pilgrimage trail to Santiago de Compostela, hitting the major churches and cathedrals on the way.  Geeky?  Probably, but we would have a fantastic time.

You're brave.  For some reason, I'm terrified of driving cars in foreign countries...  lol, strange.. I know...

Well, if we really did it the right way, we would be walking, but I don't think we're that brave.  At least they drive on the right side of the road in France.

DH would LOVE that! He was an art history major.. and me... well, I don't understand art. I try... but every time we go to an art museum, I'm ready to go wayyy before he is. This sounds like something right up his alley.

  • Spa day somewhere warm with lots of frozen adult beverages!

  • I really want to go to Iceland and soak in the mineral springs.

  • That's totally me!   I majored in art history and DH groans every time I mention the word "museum."  Fortunately for me, though, he does love medieval history, so he finds cathedrals fascinating.

HA! Witchy, have I got a story for you.

My FIL is a WWII vet who was stationed in Iceland.   While he was there, he and some fellow marines were soaking in the springs.  So the story goes, some lumpy guy gets in the springs with them, and it turned out to be Winston Churchill himself... naked as a jay bird. :)

Ya know, he has a flare for the dramatic, but I don't think he's lying.  :)

Ha ha, could be true. You never know who you might catch with their pants down. What happens in Iceland stays in Iceland lol
