Hey ladies! At the GTG last week, we talked about having another one soon that hopefully more people could attend. We talked about visiting a winery, but I know there are some pregnant ladies that might not enjoy doing that. So, I'm open for suggestions and dates. Maybe the first week/weekend of March?
Re: Next Richmond GTG :)
What's that? Sorry, I still no next to nothing about what to do in the area.
I know somebody mentioned movies and mimosas, they are showing North by Northwest that weekend. We could also do something like a cooking or cake decorating class.
Some fun things that are coming up soon that I think would make good GTG's are the Irish festival (March 20 & 21) and the James River Wine festival (April 24 & 25). Which reminds me, is anybody planning on going to the wine expo this weekend? We're still trying to decide!
Jen
I didn't even realize Movies and Mimosas was every weekend. I guess I should've gone back to read that post again.
All of those things sound fabulous to me! I am definitely in for the James River Wine Festival. I bet that is a ton of fun. That might even be a good event to have a couples GTG. The Irish festival could be a good for that, as well.
I've always wanted to go to one of those pottery places, too. There was one in Florida that you could bring wine to drink while painting the pottery, but I never got to go. Jen, do you know of any cooking and/or cake decorating classes in the area? Even if we didn't do something like that as a GTG, I would still go on my own because I love cooking and baking.
We were thinking about going to the wine expo, but I think we're going to Charlottesville to visit friends this weekend.
I took a bunch of the cake decorating classes at Michael's, which was a lot of fun. I think there are a couple of places in Carytown that do cooking classes, but now that I'm looking they're kind of expensive ($45- $60), so maybe that's not such a good idea. I know that Michael's does some saturday one time classes, like brownies and candy, so that might be an idea.
Jen
I'll be around, and I'm up for whatever as long as it doesn't involve getting up too early saturday morning ;-)
I'll be at Cap Ale friday night celebrating my final defense of my dissertation if anybody feels like coming out!
Jen
That is awesome, Jen! Congratulations!
I guess we'll wait until tonight to see if anyone has any preference on what we do. Saturday afternoon or night works for me.
I may be up for hanging out this weekend, not sure yet though. I'm trying to catch up with a friend who said they were finally going to be free this weekend, but we haven't worked out the details.
I'm pretty open on things to do....food of course is always a good choice The Home and Garden show is at the raceway as well. Crafts or movies work too.
Also...just as an FYI to the Richmond newbies...the Spring Bazaar Bazaar is at the end of this month. This is an awesome craft show that comes to the raceway before Christmas and in the spring. I go every year and love it.
Of course! I just moved here in January, so I completely understand. If you want, you can send me a message with your email, and I can email you the next time we plan something. I'll post it on the board, too, but most people don't check the board very often.
Pretty!! Is this what you guys did last time? Looks like it was probably super fun. Glad you Richmond girls are GTG!!
