DH and I are opening our own coffee roastery and are going to a few St. Patty's Day events to promote ourselves, so we figured we'd do Irish Coffe. I didn't know much about it until recently. Dh made it for us and I was amazed how good it was, esp since it has whiskey in it.
So I'm curious, have you ever heard of or had Irish Coffee?
Re: Ever had Irish Coffee?
Yup
You could also try serving Nutty Irishmen

Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
Yes, this is Irish Coffee

We make our a little differently by adding our own flare, but it's so good. I was just curious how many people would actually know what it was when we're serving and how much explaining we'll be doing.
Yuuum
DH bought me the glasses from C&B for christmas one year.
Just a thought...do you have to have a alcohol license to serve this drink?
my DH makes irish coffees all the time. he's "famous" in our group for them. (but he's from denmark, go figure).
he does brown sugar and coffee mixed first in a pint glass then adds the whiskey. last, shake the heavy cream in the container until it sounds thick then pour it into the glass over the back of a spoon so it just sits on top of the hot coffee/whiskey.
the finished product looks exactly like a guinness and tastes amazing! (he even draws little shamrocks in the cream foam) : )
love them!
