Work Vent.

I hope I don't get dooced for this someday.

Anyways.  Right now, I am doing the work of about 8 different people.  And sorry but I prioritize MY actual job first - then the other jobs.   Maybe someone from up above shouldn't have approved PTO for everyone ALL AT ONCE.  And dudes, when someone is nice enough to say "Yeah, I'll help out," don't yell at them when they actually help out.  Don't.  Not cool.

Agh, it should get better tomorrow when people start coming back from their PTO.  Right now I'm about to lose my shiiiiit with people.  Today someone asked me how to use the copy machine and it took a lot of willpower to scream, "WTF PRESS COPY DIPSH!T!! ITS A BIG GREEN BUTTON!"

Vent over.  Please resume normal activity.

Re: Work Vent.

  • Ugh that is the worst.  I am in a similar situation.  I do the work of 3 people but noone is coming back.  Hope things calm down once everyone returns.
  • Yikes!  In reality its more like 3.5 jobs but I do get the hope of them coming back shortly.  Hope you get through it too.

Working for a living is not fun.

  • work frustration is the worst!  I understand completely doing the job of many people and being under appreciated.  hang in there!  keep those vents coming as long as you need to!

  • That sounds very frustrating.

The copy machine?  If I couldn't immediately figure it out, I would stand there until I did before asking someone.

  • Ugggh that was about half the people in my old office! This one pushy, holier than thou lady once thought her computer was broken. It was turned off. Another used to crawl under his desk to unplug his computer every night until someone caught him and he kept all his files on the desktop because he couldn't find them otherwise. *sigh* If your job requires you use a machine, LEARN IT and leave everyone else alone! Hopefully things get back to normal for you soon.
  • Ugh, sounds like my department.  They've failed to hire anyone for the past few years, yet we've taken on about 5 new products.  So, some of us in the department (me included) now do the job of 3 people.  It suuucccckkks.  I'm glad the others are coming back soon....I think I would have lost it on the copy machine person if I was in your shoes though LOL!  Dude, seriously?!  How have you made it this far in life without knowing how to push the green button?

  • Working a copy machine should be a requirement to getting hired - like a drug test or criminal background check. Fools.

Ugh, yes. And Microsoft Office. I can't begin to tell you how many people we've hired who lied about being able to use Word and Excel on their resume. And if you don't, TRY THE HELP FUNCTION PEOPLE.
