I just wanted to thank you for your recipes of onion tarts and pear salad! I tried them yesterday and both turned out really good. They are definitely great appetizers that I'll keep in my recipe book for future events.
I had a little problem with shaping the tarts
so I made two kinds: round and square. I made square tarts before and filled them with a traditional Russian filling: boiled eggs (finely cut) mixed with spring onions (finely cut) and mayo. Of course, don't forget salt. It may sound a little strange, but they are really good. Just an idea
I made them for my American family and they loved them saying that they never thought that hot egg salad can taste so good in pastry. Thanks again for your interesting recipes!
Re: Agent
AWESOME! I am glad you enjoyed them!
I just kind of free formed my tarts, because they got cut up into pieces anyway, so I really didnt worry to much about my shape. I just put the filling in the middle of the dough and then just pulled the sides all around like instructed, but didnt worry to much about it!
Send me the recipe for your russian ones!
Infact, I vote that you post a dinenr full of russian foods! that would be fun to try to make
Agree about shapes of tarts! Doesn't matter what shape they have, in the end they taste great and look nice
