My Homemade Dishwashing Detergent Recipe
Questions about dishwasher detergents come up frequently enough that I thought I'd share that I posted my, dare I say perfected*, homemade dishwasher detergent recipe in my blog. I feel rather AWish posting a blog link unsolicited, but I genuinely hope it is helpful.
*at least it is perfect for my water conditions.
Next time I make a batch of deodorant, I'm going to measure that out and share it, too. I think that is another one that comes up frequently here. Right now I just eyeball it and experiment, but I know that doesn't work for recipe followers, so I am going to be strategic about measuring and writing instructions.

Thanks for the tip! My old Whole Foods had the lamest bulk section, but the one closest to me now is HUGE so I will have to check out what they have.
Ditto! I was also about to give up, and DH wants me to make our own. Do you have laundry detergent too?
here is my recipe for laundry detergent (powder)
1c borax
1c baking soda
1c washing soda
3 tbsp. liquid castile soap (right now i am using dr. bronner's lavender). i think in my next batch i am going to try 4 tbsp. and see if there is any difference, but the 3 have been working very well.
you can also use a bar soap without moisturizer, but the liquid is easier than grating a bar of soap.
I do. Here are the entries on that.
