My dogs - they're funny folks.

I came home today and neither one of the dogs was at the front door like usual.  I started freaking out (I don't know why - the doors were all shut and its not like someone's going to dog-nap them).  Not in the living room, so I go upstairs.  They knocked the baby gate to the upstairs down (or it fell down) and I went in our bedroom to find that the two of them had completely unmade the bed and were just lounging in the covers.  As though this was totally normal and cool.  It was like "Oh hey Mom, didn't hear you come in.  Want to join us for a nap?  This is OUR bed and all."

I don't own my dogs, its clear that they own me.

  • Haha aww, they just wanted to snuggle in bed!  Adorable!  I think all dogs who are allowed on the bed (or manage to make it into the bed) think it's theirs and they are kind to allow us to "share" for a few hours.  Bella lives on the bed.

  • DH and I watched The Dog Whisperer yesterday and Cesar asked these 2 guys who owned the house... They said "we do".  He asked them again... They looked at each other like-is it you or me that owns the house?...

Cesar then said... NO, your dog owns the house-you need to become the pack leader.

This reminds me of that! how funny!...

  • They musta been cold Mama.
  • My parent's (and my!) biggest dog, Mandy, will try to "sneak" up on the couch like you won't notice. She will slowly up on leg at at time until ta-da! She's on the couch. She will do the same thing in reverse when my dad, who will kick her off the couch, comes into the room.
  • Haha! I love pets! And my cats own us. We are their servants. We get gentle pokes from claws if we are late feeding them (or if they THINK we are late), and they occasionally let us have foot room in bed.

This is exactly how I feel about my cats!  Our animals have us trained so well don't they?

  • I have to carry my one cat outside to the porch in the mornings b/c he rarely voluntarily leaves our bed once he gets in.
