So I just got some pretty sad news.
Background - when my brother was little he did Boy Scouts and my dad was troop leader so we were always doing something with the scouts. We kept in touch with most of the troop as the boys grew up along with the siblings (though their siblings were younger - I was the oldest of the group of kids). There were these twins in the troop and they had a younger brother. (I think they moved away, I know they left the troop but I can't remember why and that was probably the last I'd seen or heard of them until kind of recently when some of the "kids" reconnected on Facebook and I've heard about them through the grapevine)
Well, Sunday the little boy I remember, now a fully grown man, was killed in action in Afghanistan. While emotionally I am ok because I haven't seen him in probably 15 years I am heartbroken for his family. I can't imagine what they are going through right now. If you guys could say a prayer for Eric Ward and his family that would be great. I'm sure they could use all the prayers they can get right now.
Re: Wow.
aw that is sad! a friend of mine was killed in afghanistan on 3/3/08, its so sad how many troops we're losing over there.
I'll be praying for his family!
That's so sad...T&P for his family.
One of my best friends is leaving in June for a year in Afghanistan. I'm actually trying to get out to Columbus to see him (and his wife and daughter) before he leaves. It's so anti-patriotic of me but I hate that he chose to do this.

I know what you mean. My brother's best friend is currently in Afghanistan and this is his 4th tour (3 to Iraq) and I hate it a little bit too. I'm super proud of him but I want him to just come home once and for all.
