Reclipsen BCP

Anyone taken this or its brand name Apri?  My doctor just switched me to it after the concerns about Yaz and I am wondering it it's good or not.

Re: Reclipsen BCP

  • I take it. It's one of the few that I've been able to find that didn't give me any spotting and doesn't have any dyes I'm allergic too. I've been on 2 or 3 generics of it, including the most recent, Solia. My pharmacy tried to switch me to yet another generic and when I got there the pills were bright red. Um, I'm allergic to red dyes!

Anyway, I've been on it for maybe 5 years now and haven't had any problems with hormones, weight, skin, etc.

  • I'm on it.  I switched to it from the Nuva Ring because the ring was no longer covered under my insurance.  The switch was good.  I haven't noticed any weight gain, mood changes or anything.  Other than the fact that I hate taking a pill every day, it's good!
  • I've been taking it for over two years. It's the best bcp I've ever used.
  • I have been taking it for almost a year now, my new doctor switched me from yaz to it and i was so happy he did, i couldn't take was yaz was doing to me month after month! like pp best bcp i have ever used.

  • I was on Reclipsen/Apri for quite a few years. I had no complaints about it. My insurance dropped it so I dropped BCP.
  • Been on it for a couple years. It's been really helping cramps and acne. My doctor actually prescribed Yaz at first and then when I went to pick it up, the pharmacist told me that Yaz was just really good a marketing and that there are way better genaric birth controls that don't cost $20 a piece. He said any good pharmacist can help you pick out a genaric birth control with the levels you need to clear acne, get rid of cramps, get rid of pms, etc. You just have to tell them your issues and they will figure out the correct balance and what pill gives you that.
  • I was on Apri after taking Yaz. I didn't like it, I had horrible cramps and pretty heavy periods. I got a new doc and he switched me to loestrin-24 and i really like it. no more cramps from hades.
