Has anyone lived at any of these complexes?

Or looked at them?  If so, can you give me your thoughts on them?  One of Jeff's former group members from Boston was hired at Intel, and is going to be moving here soon.  : )

We can give input on Nexus, and we looked at Seneca but I'm not sure about the rest.

  • Have you looked at apartmentratings.com ?  It's a rating site for apartments.

This! Unfortunately, many of them have very poor ratings! But...I can vouch for the last apt. complex we lived at...it was rated horribly on apartmentratings.com and I completely agreed with every comment people made-it was a horrible complex!

  • We lived at Nexus so when it was time to move looked at Orenco Gardens and decided against it really fast. The office people were dumb and the set up of the apartments was odd. All the building were also really cramped together, no open space (like nexus)
  • I'm sure she's looked at apartment ratings, because that's what we always do.  But like you mentioned, it's hard to tell if those reviews are accurate or not.  : )

I just know that there have been posts about people wondering where to live and if anyone had seen them in person.

That's good to know about Orenco Gardens.  : )  I think the people there were rude to me when we were looking for a new place to live that was pet (and pittie) friendly.

  • I have a friend who lives at Commons at Hawthorn Village and I guess its difficult to rate them. Her apartment is the worst layout I've ever seen however that's just one apartment. I like the location, but many of those properties are very near hers.

The few I do know about are Thorncroft which I used to live in and LOVED! After I moved out my roomie moved from our very large two bedroom to a one and it was great as well. My fave layout is the graypointe which we had and people constantly complimented us on it. Plus there is an alarm system so its easier to sleep at night with a ground floor unit.

My sister and SIL lived at Rock Creek and it was great as well. I've also had friends at Lions Gate who loved it. None of these are on your list and are a tiny bit further toward Beaverton, but they're all quite nice from what I remember.

  • Oak Glen is pretty quiet and inexpensive. I've only been here a little over a month and I like it. The office ladies were really friendly when I was going through all of the different things with them, they also have really good deal here too.

A coworker of mine lives at Nexus and HATES it. He pays way more than I do for a studio and he says that the office people are terrible too.

  • I also looked at Commons at Dawson Creek and liked them, but felt they were too expensive given the location. Convenient for where I work, or if you worked at Intel or something, but I don't like that there isn't a whole lot within short walking distance.

My first choice was Stillwater, but they had a long wait list for 1 bedrooms.

  • Thanks all!  I'll go ahead and pass these on to her.  She will be working at Intel.  She's so used to biking and taking public transportation from living in Boston that she'd like to continue doing so here, so being close to Intel is important to her.  : )

cupcake, you can delete the name of your complex if you want.  I don't mind!
