Argh, noise!

Our neighbor who bought the house several months ago is doing major renovations. The house needs it and I don't blame him. But today was super annoying. He's not even there himself but he's had people working on countertops all day, outside! They've been cutting and burning granite all night. The cutting etc is so noisy. When it was 9pm I went outside to tell them to stop. They said 30 more minutes, so we gave them 60 minutes. DH just went outside to tell them to stop. If I hear that noise one more time we're calling the cops.

  • Oh that would drive me CRAZY!!!!!!!! I can't believe they were doing that until 10PM!!!

  • I know! Luckily they finally did stop at 10pm so we didn't have to call the cops.
  • Glad to hear they stopped...I would have been livid!

  • Technically our law says 10pm, but our cops will come by starting at 8pm if we call.  We have new loud neighbors and I have called probably 10 times on them, they suck.

Also, the plus side, the work they are doing to their house might have a good impact on YOUR property value evenutally!!

  • I agree it will have a good impact on the neighborhood esp. bc the neighbor got the house for a rock bottom price, but that doesn't mean they can work outside until late at night. It was a really annoying sound. Our noise ordinance says under 50dB noise level until 9pm and under 40dB after 9pm. I didn't measure the noise level but the grinding noise was really loud and with our DD sleeping in the front room upstairs I didn't want them to wake her.
