Do your self breast exams!

I know I am bad about it and think the breast cancer doesn't happen to people in our age group.  Well a friend of my old roomates(i know her we would go out all the time when I was single) is 31 and diagnosed with breast cancer.  She has 2 little boys at home.  The 2nd was only born in December.  She has to go through chemo, surgery and then radiation.  She decided to shave her head so she wouldn't go through losing her hair.  I feel so bad for her.  She has had a rough couple years.  She had her first baby born at 32 weeks, had a miscarriage at 12 weeks and then when she had her 2nd baby in dec she had a c section, found out her ab muscles were destroyed and had to have a tummy tuck the next day.  10 days later the drainage tube became infected on Xmas Eve and she was in the hospital.  The doctors are really hopeful that she will see her sons graduate and get married.  So make sure you remember to check and also any thoughts and prayers for her.

  • Oh my gosh...I am so sorry that she has to go through this. Thanks God they think she will do well. Cancer is so awful. I will keep her in my T and P.

  • There's a nestie on D&R who is currently fighting breast cancer too.  She's right around 30ish.  It's never too early to pay attention to.
  • I agree.  I actually had to get a mammogram a few months ago because I felt a lump.  They did a mammogram and an ultrasound since I am still so dense.  They did find something on the other breast so they did a needle aspiration.  Luckily, it came back with no evidence of cancer but I need to follow up in 6 months.  Just what I need right?  My poor husband was so releived when we heard it came back normal.

I wish your friend the best of luck.
