Where to look for homes to rent?
My IL's have just accepted an offer on their house, and are looking to move up to OR within the month...they'd like to rent until they're sure of what areas they would like to buy in.
They're looking for a house (preferably with 1 acre+) on the west side...I've scoured CL and we've seen a few places that might work, but CL is FILLED with apartment complexes...which are a NO WAY! Any suggestions on where to look for homes vs. apartments to rent?
Thanks!

Re: Where to look for homes to rent?
We found our townhome through CL, but I didn't realize how many complexes we had to skip past until you mentioned it.
I'd try checking Zillow; I'm pretty sure there's a feature to search neighborhoods for rentals.
Maybe you could post on CL for them and mention where you're looking to rent and what the requirements were? We got several hits that way.
Hmm...didn't think about that! I do have my works version of CL, but there's really only 1-2 rentals per day that list...

Unfortunately you gotta just do CL...it's the best and most inclusive there is...and you just have to literally read every single one and spend HOURS doing it to weed through all of the apartments. You can also do keyword searches for 'house' and stuff and that helps sometimes, but sometimes you miss some that didn't have house in the listing. It sucks and takes time, but it's worth it....that's how we found our house! I must have spent like 80+hours looking on craigslist alone by the time we found it, but it was worth it! Especially since it allowed all 4 of our pets We want to move when our lease is up though and I'm so not looking forward to scouring CL again....
Exciting that they have an offer on their home though!!!

I would google property management companies. They will be the best resource - other than CL - for finding a rental house. Also, check oregonlive.com or wweek.com.
