texting

Why do I feel this is for the under 18 crowd?

Re: texting

  • I text. I'm 24.  I agree that young people text constantly, though.

  • I guess cause texting was never a thing when I was in college, so I never got into it. I was intrigued when I had friends who were studying abroad who had cells in those countries and did more texting than calling.
  • I like the convenience of texting if what I have to say can be said in one text. I do not care to blabber a whole conversation back and fourth and since I only have a certain number per month, I REALLY hate when people respond and say things like "K". Seriously, you just wasted one of my texts with "K"? lol.

    OK end vent.

On another note, my mom recently got a real phone (as opposed to her Trac phone) and she is on it all.the.time. She texts nonstop and checks her e-mail/FB compulsively. It's so irritating when you're trying to have a conversation with someone and they are having 3 others simultaniously.

  • I am behind - I am just starting to text more and getting better at it.  It will eventually grow on me probably.
  • I should add that we just got texting on our phones in September 2008. Before that, I'd very rarely send them.
