Today was a very dissapointing day. We were outbid at the last minute on the house. UGH!!!! I was so frustrated. The realtor called to see if wanted to up our bid. She said I told them you probably wouldn't, but I have to check with you. Of course I am not going to start in a bidding war!
I came home to find a package I had ordered with some new shoes and a couple tops. Not ONE thing looked like it did in the catalog. Taupe shoes were DARK BROWN. hellooo lol
Saw a crib on sale today for $99 bucks....just hit the wrong nerve. I just needed to vent. Been a little sad this evening.
Re: Vent
I'm so sorry...sometimes days are just sucky.
I know how that feels now...we lost out to the other bidder too...and weren't willing to play "bidding war"
Tomorrow will be better!
I'm sorry! Don't give up hope you will get a house. When Dh and I were looking for houses people did last min bids to us a least 3 times.
T&PS for you.
Sorry you had a rough day Becky. ::Hugs::
We did get into a bidding war on our place and ended up winning. As soon as we had a verbal acceptance someone came in and offered the full asking price in CASH. We were so upset but the seller was really cool about it and kept his promise to us even though we hadn't signed anything yet. Before we could close we had to meet with the board of our building (we live in a co-op) for approval. It took them 2 weeks to approve us. They didn't like the fact that DH was in finance (hello...we live in NYC...everyone's in finanace) and that we weren't engaged yet. They thought that because we're on the younger side (he was 28 when we bought) and single we'd be throwing all sorts of crazy parties. It was really disappointing to be judged so harshly by people that don't even know us. Those 2 weeks were crazy because we just kept hearing that they weren't unanimous and couldn't approve us yet. If they don't approve us then we can't buy the place and we've wasted months of our time and the seller's time and we're both left with nothing. Thanfully it all worked out in the end and we've been happily living there for 4 years now. That was long winded but the point is - despite the setbacks and disappointment it'll happen when it's meant to happen and you'll end up in the house you're supposed to have.
