Nicholas Sparks fans
I posted this below but am not sure if anyone is still checking that thread:
I used to read his books when I was younger and liked them but the only book I've read recently was The Wedding (picked it up at the airport). I thought it was terrible. Has my taste changed or was that just a bad book?

Umm, not sure. I read most of NS about 5 to 8 years ago, including The Wedding...I haven't reread any books more recently. I have a hard time remembering specifics about The Wedding. I don't remember anything really bad about it.
The only NS I have read recently is Dear John, right before the movie came out. I loved it and it was very much how I remember NS books to be. So I would say try that one if you haven't read it & if you don't like it I would guess you just don't like his books anymore!

I personally didn't think too much of the book either. I like NS writing style, but he can get a bit too corny at times. I loved Dear John simply because it wasn't an expected love story. Although she really pissed me off at times, it wasn't quite a happily ever after.
