On days like today I just want to quit my job...
My boss just came in and told me that I have been with the company for 5 months and that they expected I would be generating more revenue by now. What do I say to that?? I have told them that I think their expectations are unrealistic and that I am struggling. They just continue to let me flounder with no support...I almost wish they would just fire me so I could move on easier. Ugh..im so frustrated. TGIF!
I dont want to make any rash decsions but I really think that taking this job was a mistake and I am not happy there. Days like today I just want to throw my keys on the table and walk out (all dramatic, like in the movies lol). I needed a break to clear my head which is why im on here...hopefully you guys can give some insight!
Re: On days like today I just want to quit my job...
First of all, where do you work and what do you do? I cannot imagine having my boss say something like that to me. That is horrible, and definitely not the right way to engage employees...
Job hunting on the side might not be such a bad idea - unless you are determined to be in the sales field, that just seems like it'd be stressful with any employer.
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
I basically contact pharmaceutical companies all day to market the doctors my company works with. I try to get new clinical trials for the doctors from those companies (like Astra Zeneca and Merck, ect.). The more studies each doctor has, the more money we make. Its kind of confusing...
It's not entirely your fault that you aren't producing revenue! The doctors have a play in that! I worked for a doctor that would take all the samples in the world, but never ever actually order or do anything with the company.
I'm sorry your boss sucks!!
First of all- I'm so sorry your in this boat, and I totally get it.
My best advice, always have a plan B and even a plan C. It NEVER hurts to job search (even if your super happy in your position, knowing your marketable or what you need to do to be marketable keeps you on your toes). Speak with your DH/SO and figure out what you can do- if you absolutely had too, could you live off of one income for a while even without unemployment (IE: you quit).
Once you know that you CAN do that even if it means cutting back on a few things, its a HUGE relief off your shoulders and you can figure out what exactly you need to do for you.
I sent you one...
on the left where all the links to the boards are, go to "my boards" and click Check Private Messages. My message to you will be there.
I am so sorry you are going through that, it is tough when they come down on you but don't give you the support you need to do what they are asking. I will keep my eyes peeled to see if my office has anything
