So, I've made the switch and tossed out my aluminum packed deoderant after hearing so many bad things about it (I was using Degree for YEARS). I tried KMF Liquid Rock and really liked it, but that also has potassium alum in it, which is another form of aluminun, so I switched to Jason natural lavendar deo...so far it's OK, but not fab.

So, explain to me why this new deoderant rates a 5 while Degree (aluminun heavy) is also a 5??? Surely the Jason is a better choice? Grrr!

it's probably the fragrance. cosmetic database rates fragrances pretty high and thinks they are bad.

You can't just go by score. You need to look at the ingredients list because they weigh differently.  And, you may not have a problem with all ingredients that they score high. I agree with PP that artificial fragrance and (and color) really knocks up the points.

the database says "fragrance" is an ingredient, but it's not listed on the deoderant itself (neither is color) so I guess that's what would make a difference on the scoring.
