Jenn needs to reopen the Baby Shoe poll for amendments

Because I'm going to be pregnant forever.

No dilation but I do have some softening of the cervix.  I guess I'll take what I can get.  DrC is doing an u/s next week to look at fluid levels and determine just how long she's willing to let me go before forcing the kid out either with an induction or a scheduled c/s.  I think she was just prepping me that it might be an option eventually b/c she also said that at 38 weeks, she's not nervous at all and I shouldn't be either.

And I'm not nervous.  Annoyed perhaps but not nervous.  To make myself feel better I went to Sam's and got my camera since my refund came in today (yay!) and on the way out ran into some oh so cute girl scouts who persuaded me into a box (or two) of thin mints.

Re: Jenn needs to reopen the Baby Shoe poll for amendments

  • Have you tried any of the OWT of getting the baby to come out, castor oil, spicy food, nipple stimulation, etc? Is this where stripping the membranes comes into play, or is that an option? Do I know what I'm talking about?

  • I think membrane stripping does help move things along but you have to actually be dilated before they can do that.  I'm not doing castor oil.  I've decided to kick up the spicy food thing this week and eat more pineapple.  I'm still pondering on if I'm going to subject MrShoe and myself to that thing that got us in this predicament in the first place.

  • The poll is here if anyone is scared and wants to change their guess. I, however, am staying strong for March 3. :)

  • Looks like it's time to enact Operation Eviction on Baby Shoe...

You can try drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea too (not just raspberry tea - it's gotta be the rasp. leaf tea), but that's a thing midwives will use to help dilation and effacement.
