I know I rarely post here, but I was hoping that someone may be able to give me some feedback on the new phone company - WIND?
their plans are excellent but I wanted to know what kind of quality they have for phone reception. I live in a large city, so I know I will get coverage, but I hate static or dropped calls.
Currently I am with Bell (my contract is over) and somehow my $20 for 200 minutes turns into $90 a month... without long distance (I use a calling card) I need a change
Re: hello - Wind mobile?
I don't know anything about that particular company but if you are happy with Bell, have you considered talking them into a better plan for you?
When my phone died last time (contract was up), I called my current plan (Rogers) and told them I was thinking of switching to another company (Bell) because they had a better deal (which they did through Ontario Pharmacists Association). I told them the deal (but sweetened it a bit) and they put me through to a manager and ended up giving me a fantastic deal. Essentially, I pay ~$30 a month for 250mins daytime, unlimited nights (starting at 6pm) and weekends, free incoming and outgoing texts, voicemail, call display - I think that about covers it. I don't need or have anything for long distance but they usually have value packs for that and you can see if they will add it for a discount.
Seriously, just call them and tell them you are considering a different company and they will bend over backwards to keep your business.
Happy Easter

If the negotiations with bell don't work out....
I haven't heard of Wind, but I just started mat leave, and had to give up my work cell, so I wanted an inexpensive cell to get my through the next year. After shopping around, I found a great deal with Koodo. I'm not on a contract, my monthly bill is a great price, and they pay 10% of every bill towards the cost of my phone, so I still get some of the benefits of a contract, without actually being on one. I have only had it for a week or two, but quite happy so far! Oh, my sis is on Koodo too, has been for several months, and she is super happy with it.
I would shop around at a few places and see what they say! If you go to future shop or costco or somewhere like that, they have several providers, makes it easy to shop around.
