Hi girls, I know that I haven't been on much lately, but I would appreciate your Ts & Ps. My family should be fine as my sister lives upcountry enough that they should be away from any danger. My mom lives much closer to the water (in Kailua Kona), but they are on the side of a volcano, so hopefully they will be fine too. My bigger concern though is for many friends that we have there. My sister lived in Lahaina for nine years, and said that most of her friends are not able to get out of town because of extreme congestion (if you have ever been there, you know that it is a two lane road into this town). My niece was staying with her dad in Lahaina, but he is a fisherman, saw the earthquake last night and was prepared before the sirens went off to evacuate for a possible Tsunami. He sent my nice and his mom to my sisters house at 5:00am HI time and he left to take the boat out to sea. Anyway,. this is rambling and I keep telling myself they should all be fine, the tsunami is currently headed to Hilo, which is the opposite side of the island of where my mom lives, and a different island than my sister, but there are evacuation warnings, and its still scary.
Re: T&P - Hawaii
T&Ps that all are safe.
I heard that the waves themselves aren't *that* huge - but flooding will still happen because of how the waves will act.
I hope that they have enough time to reach safety. Things can be replaced - not so much with lives.

I have family in that same area I am worried about as well. Typical Hawaiians though, they just see this as a great chance to hang out together. Gotta love em!
I was asking R about the ships and such out at sea . . . that seems dangerous to be out there with these waves coming in!
T&Ps to your family and to many other people around the world...What a day today is!
Hope all are safe and well!
Thanks everyone, looks like crisis was diverted!
Now that this is after the fact... I hope they were fine! Looks like they really didn't get much of a tsunami, but I hear Russia felt the waves! wow...
Good thing this earthquake was 'deep'-or it would have been worse!
T&P that your family and others are fine!
