Morning ladies-planting help needed

Good morning! I don't post here often but thought it would be a good place to come for some help. With spring coming, I'm trying to think of ideas to spruce up our retaining wall along side the driveway. We moved into our house last July & I just didn't have the time to begin planting. The area is full sun & kind of bare. There is a hydrangea bush & some lillies. I'm looking to add some easy to take care of perenials that will blend will & fill in the area. I'm in zone 6. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks so much!

  • If you click on my house blog you can see a few pics. They're not that great but it'll give you an idea.

  • I can't really tell what the area looks like, and I know not everyone likes them, but what about azalea bushes? From my little bit of experience they're really pretty easy to care for, but might not do well in full sun. Maybe roses?

  • I think it would be nice to have a tall skinny evergreen in the corner of the raised bed (against the house between AC unit and front stoop).  Sky Pencil Holly is easy and likes full sun and will give you winter interest.  Then you can keep the Hydrangea and underplant with Catmint, Iberis, Echinacea, dwarf grass, etc...  Also plant some early Spring bulbs in the fall so you'll have interest all year!  Have fun and experiment!
