We are trying to book our Disney Vacation for nextt February and I was hoping someone could help me with a few questions:
1. Is it best to book online or call to book a package? (we are doing the hotel, park passes, and the dining option)
2. Did you get the no expiration date on your park passes or did you not bother with that?
3. Did you have to pay extra to have a crib in the room?
4. I read online about discount codes and such, how do you go about getting these to book your trip? Can you use a code after you already made the reservation?
Re: Disney questions
1. Is it best to book online or call to book a package? (we are doing the hotel, park passes, and the dining option)
I've done both, it doesn't really matter. Online is easier depending on the time of day the wait can suck (I waited 20 minutes yesterday) If you do not have a code right now, might as well do it online IMO.
2. Did you get the no expiration date on your park passes or did you not bother with that?
Never bothered, especially because with our dining reservations I knew even of for some reason we were going to skip a park day. We had to at least pass through a park to get to a restaurant usually. I have never done "water parks and more" either....can't see taking little kids to the water park or arcade.
3. Did you have to pay extra to have a crib in the room?
No, not even in the values.
4. I read online about discount codes and such, how do you go about getting these to book your trip? Can you use a code after you already made the reservation?
There are several ways to go about getting discounts. You can book through AAA. Are you signed up on Disney.com? they send me discounts all the time in my e-mail. www.mousesavers.com is a good palce to check for discounts...problem being depending on WHEN in Feb you are going, it may be a busy time so it's less likely you'll score a really good one, but still possible. Also, having a Chase Disney Visa doesn't hurt either...they are sending me stuff all the time.
You may be able to apply discount code after the fact, just depends exactly WHAT the discount is...some discount codes are set aside so there are only X amount of rooms in each hotel with that code available...but if you stay on top of what's out there as long as there's availability where you are already booked, then it's fine.
HTH!
I couldn't have explained it better myself. I never had the need to get a crib but I probably wont know. I usually stay at the Port Orlean Riverside and they have a trundle bed under one of the beds in the room. I might just end up using that IF he needs his own bed at that point.
I have never used the no expiration. If i lived in FL probably OR if I went at least 2 or 3 times a year then I would but since I go usually once every other year it wont be cost effective.
I use mousesavers.com and the Disboards.com to keep up with all the promos.
Oh and I have always booked online. Its really easy and its the same cost either way. The only thing I do over the phone is book by restaurants or extra tickets.
have a ton of fun!! Where are you thinking of staying?
