Lawn Mowers

Hello all.  Looking for some ideas on where to purchase a lawn mower.  I want to stay clear of Home Depot and Lowes (if possible).

Any suggestions on mowers in the $3000.00 range?

I live in the Cincinnati area.  Thanks for your help.

Your price range leads me to wonder if you are looking for a riding mower? Check the yellow pages.

  • Oh yes.. Thank you.  I'm looking for a riding mower.
  • I don't have any specific recommendations but John Deer's line of mowers are really high quality (if you buy them from a reputable dealer, see their website).

And I'm glad you don't want to buy one from Home Depot!  A friend of mine bought an expensive John Deer riding lawn mower from HD and within two months it wasn't working.  He took it into his local John Deer rep. to fix it.  They opened up the hood and right away asked "Did you buy this from HD?"  Turns out HD makes John Deer put in many plastic parts that would otherwise be metal to cut cost.

  • My dad got a Sears Craftsman riding mower.  He's had it for several years now and has had zero problems with it.
