I didn't really research it too much, but does anyone use this site/service?
I'm not sure I quite get it.. you pay to have your recyclables picked up and then you get rewards? It sounds like you need to save up a lot before you get a pick up?
Re: RecycleBank.com
No, you only get points from recycling if your town has the recyclebank program. You can probably ask your town if they have it or are going to get it soon. My town doesn't yet (I think they are working on it though), so I get points through other ways (signing up, promo codes, joining ebay green team, through kashless.com, and electronics recycling).
I don't earn very many points, since my town doesn't have the program, but I have earned a few and got some small rewards ($2 off Cascadian Farm coupons, coupons for free boxes of Kashi cereal).
My town just started doing this. What our town did was give each resident a large recycling bin with a # on it. You call recyclebank and activate your bin. When the curbside recycling guys come, they weigh the bin and the weight gets recorded by a sensor glued to the bin. A certain number of pounds equates to a certain number of points, which you can redeem at Recyclebank's website for coupons and free stuff. I have yet to activate my bin
