Re: Happy Monday!

  • Our weekend was good.  We went to the rock climbing gym on Friday and signed a one month membership, climbed for 2 1/2 hours.  Details in running blog (link in siggy) if you want a laugh.

Saturday: We went to the rock climbing gym for a couple hours, signed DD up and let her climb too.  Relaxed at home, did yardwork, watched a movie with DD.

    Sunday: Celebrated MIL's birthday.

  • Weekend started off good. Friday I didn't get home from work until almost 11 beacuse of the snow. No one could make it in to relieve me so I was stuck. We just stayed in and played with Annie.

Saturday morning we hung around the house. Did some chores and made our meal plan for the week. Then Carol had to go to work, so Annie and I played until 8:30 then we both went to bed. It was heavenly to get the extra sleep.

Sunday we went errand running. Target, grocery store, Costco. At Costco things started to take a downhill turn. We were done shopping and were walking to the checkout and I started to feel not so good. By the time we left I was sick. Upset stomach, fever, dizziness. Yup. Full on stomach flu. So Carol took Annie to her moms while she went to work and I stayed home sick. Called out from work for last night and now tonight.

Just really hoping Carol and Annie don't catch this.

Hope everyone elses weekend was better!

  • Our weekend was very busy and productive!  We had birthing class on Saturday, after which we had a quick lunch at home, loaded up the car, and headed to our house!

We worked on the house all Saturday afternoon/evening, drove back to spend the night at our apartment, and then worked on the house again all day Sunday.  My parents came by to help us, and we accomplished a ton!

Completed: cleaning of both bathrooms, removal of wallpaper in full bath, primer and first coat of paint done in half bath, first coat of paint done in living room, walls in dining room washed and taped off for painting, paint color for dining room/hall almost picked out (several samples later...we're getting there! lol), washer and dryer cleaned, a few loads of laundry done (feels so great not to use quarters!!), 2 trips each to Target and Home Depot.

Oh, and we bought a car! Smile  I'm so relieved that the car shopping turned out to be a short and sweet endeavor.  We found exactly what we were looking for.  We'll get to pick up our fancy new wheels (6 year old small suv) this weekend.

I'm back to work today, wishing I was home packing!

  • Weekend was really good. Friday night we went out to eat for C's birthday. Saturday we have an RE appt, a baby shower in NJ for one of my old teammates - and a lot of my old teammates were there and it was super fun and not baby-shower-y, if that makes sense, and Sat night was C's suprise party. Sunday was pretty low key - we brought C's cousin to the airport, had brunch in the city, took a nap, and watched tv!

AWESOME! I'm so happy for you guys? What kind of car did you get?

My weekend was spent recovering, Vegas was amazing, and we had a GREAT time. We are really looking forward to returning in May for FIL's surprise 50th birthday. He has no ideas he's going to Vegas yet alone know that any of us kids are meeting him there. It's going to be great! Monday has been a good day, and getting back to work was easier than I anticipated, I just have a TON of homework to catch up on, but no drive to actually do it. Hopefully that will change.

  • Another weekend that zoomed by too quickly for my liking. Friday the snow held off and I was able to get my "night off" with a local nestie GTG.  It was so fabulous to have a couple glasses of wine and not rush through a meal. After dinner we even when for cocktails.  Stayed out until 10:30pm! what a night owl ;)  Unfortunately the night was not so wonderful for A...while Sprout was an angel, Rosebud had trouble going to bed and i got a couple "help the baby wont stop crying!" texts from my wife, which shocked me...and made me feel guilty :(  I dont think I'll be getting another night off for a while!

Saturday we spent the mornign at a childrens' play center, went out to lunch, then home for nap.  In the afternoon we had a bunch of errands to run and I was nervous about how Sprout would hold up.  But i'm SO happy to report that he made it through 3 stores like a champ (granted, one was toys r us!).  I say it all the time, but i cant get over how much his behavior has improved!! what a difference from the first couple weeks of being 100% homebound.

Sunday morning we went to a pancake breakfast fundraiser and Church. Then we visited with my parents and went with my mom to her wellness center to bring Sprout swimming for the first time.  I was impressed at how fearless he was, though we stayed too much past nap time and had a cranky boy on our hands.  After nap we made a visit Andrea's grandmother which was really nice - we'll have to do it more often :)

  • Friday - Went to dinner and then made my cake ball pops. I am bummed I didn't take a picture b/c they were really cute!

Saturday - Grayson's big toe was really infected so I took him to urgent care when they opened while L took Carter to Target. Scrambled around at home getting things done and then L took the kids to a playdate with her co-workers kids and I went to the party with my cake ball pops. It was a fun party - but a bit odd as all of the other women there (8 or so) spent 30 minutes complaining about their husbands and how they don't know how to take care of the kids and don't know their kids routines and like it was having a 2nd/3rd/4th child to take care of. I told them they needed a wife. :) I did end up winning 2nd place in the cupcake contest! When I got in the car, there was a message from L that the kids wouldn't nap and she was exhausted and grumpy and wanted to cancel our date for that night. I was really looking forward to going - but didn't want to go with her in that mood. :P We ended up hanging out at home and getting Outback to go. By 7:20 everyone (aside from me) in my house was passed out.

Sunday - L and I got into a big fight. Our friend from out of town came over (bad timing) and we ended up going to the Cheesecake factory for brunch/lunch and then doing some errands/playtime at the mall. We hit up Costco and the kids took a late nap. I took the kids to Target to get L's present (if it were up to them she'd have either a Buzz Lightyear/Elmo/Dragon Castle.) The kids were up till 9:00 yapping b/c of their late nap. I watched some of the Olympic Closing Games but turned them off and went to sleep.

Leanne said it was the worst birthday weekend ever. I think we'll try a redo in a couple weekends since next weekend is booked.

:(  I'm sorry yesterday was rough for the both of you.  A do-over is a really sweet idea.

  • My weekends these days pretty much consist of entertaining myself while Jen works. I had Friday off since I worked a 4x10 last week, and I spent all day cleaning the house b/c Jen is working so much I didn't want her to have to spend any of her time off cleaning. On Saturday I went to see An Education (wonderful; see it) and The Hurt Locker (great performances, but not something I'd watch again) while she worked, and then we met up at Macy's to buy the watch she had picked out for her birthday/Christmas present. Saturday night we just had a chill night at home catching up on some DVRed shows. She didn't work on Sunday, and we had a great brunch with one of our friends we rarely see and then did some errands - Autozone and Trader Joe's. Then she had a doggie play date with a friend while I met a couple of friends to see Shutter Island (which Jen didn't want to see) and go out for Mexican food. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen three movies in one weekend since high school.
