Appalling DOC behavior- VERY long
I am still feeling pretty peeved over an incident that happened yesterday, and being as though many of you ladies used a DOC at your weddings I thought you could relate.
My cousin was married last night at the Red Fish Grill and it was very beautiful. I was honored to be one of her bridesmaids and was very involved in her planning. My cousin was not a knottie and didn't want to get too involved with research and details, and I was only too happy to recommend many of my vendors to her. She chose a DOC that her brother in law used at their wedding 5 years ago and I had only seen one knottie in the past use her but seemed to be pleased with her so my cousin ended up booking her.
At the rehearsal on Saturday, the weather was crappy and we tried to rehearse quickly, so no introductions at all. She basically lined us all up and ran through everything twice, no problem really, just some minor snippiness. I was sick as a dog and just stood wherever I was told, didn't try to get in the way at all. Then comes Sunday, wedding day. She dropped off our bouquets at our hotel and went to the Red Fish to set up. We were all lined up about to walk onto the sand for the ceremony and there was a stack of chairs right next to us on the dance floor area. Everything is open so guests already had a clear view of the reception area.Then I saw the flower girl and ring boy playing around with the chairs, trying to unstack them. The coordinator walked past me so I just asked her if we could move the chairs somewhere else. Ya know, off of the dance floor maybe? Well she bit my head off and said "WHY?" and I politely said they are in the way. Well she snaps at me "I planned this whole wedding, okay?" First of all, not exactly true, and what this had to do with the chairs, I have no idea. As if this weren't bad enough, she proceeds to walk three steps past me over to the MOH (keep in mind we are all lined up for the ceremony) and starts yelling in spanish at the MOH that she needs to keep me in line, this is not my wedding, I need to stay out of her way, blah blah blah. Her yelling seriously went on for about 5 minutes. I started telling her this is really not necessary and that I understand spanish perfectly well and I know exactly what she was saying. She continued yelling and dishing attitude.
Fast forward another 3 minutes, my dad tells her that 2 older ladies needed chairs because one had a hip replacement a few weeks back. There were not enough chairs on the beach for all the guests. Well, she snaps at my dad that she does not have any more chairs (did I not just tell her about the extra chairs?) and that he needed to run out to the beach part and kick people out of their seats so they could use the chairs (my dad was also in the bridal party and lined up already in front of me.) Well my dad has to run out there and tell my husband to get some chairs, so it was taken care of. Also, as the bridal party was walking down the aisle, she ran out to the beach to kick guests out of the first row because it was supposed to be reserved for the parents.
This woman also designed the time line in a such a way that the cake cutting, garter, and bouquet toss were right after dinner, nobody had danced yet. This meant most of the guests left very early in the evening, right after the cake. I felt bad for my cousin since many people quickly left, and I was baffled about the time line until I realized everything had been scheduled that way so she could pack up and go home because I didn't see her at all after that. I tried to sign the guest book after dinner and it was already put away, so I never got to do that. Neither did most of my family.
I could go on but most of the completely ridiculous things were already said. This was VERY long, but I feel like I needed to get it out because I am still spitting fire in my head.

That's just ridiculous.
Maaaaannnn. DOC's get away with murder these days. In the last 6 months I've booked 2 brides who hired be after their DOC's took their deposits and disappeared?! Just effin bailed! WITH THEIR MONEY!
To schedule a timeline so you can leave early? De pinga. How do you not have pena?
and BTW, I commend you for not cursing her out. Because Lord knows I would have.
