172

I weigh 172.  I am 5'2" and a little bit.  I am back on the diet.  I only have enough calories left in my day for my soup.  But today sucks and I want a pizookie or a Diddy Reese sandwich.

I need to stop eating my feelings.  But my feelings are SO INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS a la mode, straight from the oven.

I REALLY want to lose weight by Memorial Day Weekend.  I do not want to be seen in a bathing suit, 50 lbs overweight (I'd be ecstatic to lose 40). I need to lose 25 lbs to get back to my wedding weight.

here's to gearing up for soup...

Re: 172

  • you could join weight watchers. I haven't met one person who said WW hasn't worked for them.

I know lots of people that WW didn't work for. Tis not for everyone.

This. I tried WW before the wedding, and didn't have time in ny day to do points for everything I ate. I upped my workouts and did the 30 DS. For the record I just ate 2 brownies. H stopped STTN. Brownies help me cope. I'm like the definition if why diets fail.

  • Aria-  I'm rooting for you to lose the weight by Memorial Day but now you have me thinking about a pizookie. . .I LOVE those things.

  • I hear you.  I also need to get my butt in gear, I am rapidly approaching lard a** status.  I thought cutting diet soda out (since it makes you crave sweet things) of my diet would help me, but so far, no difference.  I need to get my blubbery behind to the gym. Ugh.

  • Dude. Diddy Reese. So on my list of "must do/must have" before we move! Soup is tasty too, though! I've been doing soup for lunch to help control my calories. I really like Trader Joe's soups - Latin style black bean and the tomato/roasted red pepper are both really good, and surprisingly filling. Although I do add some cut-up avocado to the black bean soup.
  • I was able to lose 25lbs before the wedding with calorie counting and minimal exercise.  I have had some close friends try weight watchers.  I'm basically doing the same thing, only calories instead of points.

I just have to manage my stress in other ways.  I did have one of those 200 cal ben & jerry's tonight.  But I have also been cutting down on TV and other noise and getting more sleep, which gives my brain space to unwind.  I'll get there, it's just so easy to indulge!

J is almost to earning his second...you know...  I wish there was some equivalent that would inspire me!

    Go J!!!!  Thats awesome!

And I hear ya . . . I'm still weighing about the same as I did 3 weeks PP.  Why can't the fat just go away on its own darnit!?!?

  • I'm wishing you lots of luck on your quest!  I hear ya, so feel free to vent/rant/whatever as much as you want...I'm stuck in the same boat.  I'm doing what I should be doing, but there isn't much movement on the scale (or improvement in how my clothes fit).  I remember you on the Knot weight loss board with the stars....I have my own star system on the fridge now, and it helps somewhat.  I liked having all my stars when we were on the Knot LOL.  I felt accomplished then!  GL!

    And, go J!

  • I hear ya Aria!  I need to lose it by then, too!

I did WW in the past and it worked... it's not working this time-I've eliminated any sodas and a lot of sweets (minus the PB egg yesterday), but won't give up my glass o wine.  I work out 5-6 days/wk-mixing cardio and strength and have lost... really nothing-those 2 lbs in 2 months are crap!  I have lost inches, but highly frustrated... Giving it 1 1/2 more wks-meet w trainer again--and then setting up thyroid bloodwork.  Just crazy...

I remember those stars, Veruca!!! Funny!  And your food items seem so great-I'm surprised your scale isn't moving!

My thing is that I write my workouts on my kitchen calendar... after 5-6x/wk/mo... if I do it, I'm rewarding self for the activity... Might have you vote on my next 'Bead'!  Makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing, even if the scale doesn't budge--but the tape measure does-so maybe measure yourself 1x/mo?

If anyone has any good tips for dieting/etc... please post them!

    Go J!!!

  • Before my wedding I was super strict with low card/ south beach diet and I drop 20lbs with minimal exercise.  It was awesome but unfortunately I gain 15lbs of it back Stick out tongue

  • WW worked for me during DH's last deployment, but it was really hard for me to stick to 18 points/day after he came home.  I'd been doing SparkPeople with a bit of progress and recently switched to BabyFit.

What's really depressing for me is that in order to lose weight, I really can't eat more than 1200 calories/day.  That really is not very much food.

    Best of luck!

That is definitely not a lot of food! This is what makes me glad that I'm tall (not to rub it in!). I need more calories than you petite ladies. Of course, I also eat more than I need, but hey. . .

  • I heart WW!!!!

Good luck Aria! You can do it :)

  • Good Luck and stay focused on your goal!

Same for me.  Actually, that's not until I get to my first goal.  At 172, I can have 1400 per day and lose quickly.  I like to use this website and the zig zag method:

    http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

When I get to my first goal (break into the 140's), then I can only have 1200.
