No-poo/Curly hair ?

I switched to baking soda/ACV a couple of weeks ago, and I really like it.  Right now, I have to comb through my curls before I wash. I'm using a wide-tooth comb while my hair is wet, but I'm thinking maybe I should get a boar bristle brush and use that to distribute oils while my hair is dry.  What do you guys think?  I also posted this on the F&B board.  TIA!

Re: No-poo/Curly hair ?

  • My hair is long and straight and I no-poo. I have a boar bristle brush for when my hair is dry and a comb for when it is wet.
  • Oh I can't imagine using a boar bristle brush on my hair! I don't no-poo though. I know 410bride no poos and has curly hair, and hers always looks great! She hasn't been around much lately though.

  • I'm a curly, and have been no pooing for 2 years, but I use Deva curl nopoo.  Dry brushing/combing my hair would cause lots of breakage for me.  I comb Jojoba oil through ends when I get out of the shower.

  • i am an AA curly, but i never comb or brush my hair dry. it would break all over the place. and i cannot remember the last time i used a brush on my hair. i thought combing and brushing dry was a no no for curlies?
