My great craigslist find was a giant rose bush. I have no idea what it is. The homeowner said it was there when they bought the house. They had done nothing to it. It had dead wood and clearly had not been pruned in years (if ever). We cut it back as much as possible before moving it. Now, that it is home, I want to make sure that I give it a proper pruning before I plant it. I have it in a plastic baby pool now... if that gives you an idea of how big the roots are.
Where can I find out what kind of rose bush it is? I tried googling rose bush and don't see anything that big. It's 5 feet tall and was nearly that wide before we pruned it. I found "shrub rose" but the pictures they show are not of the whole plant... so, I can't tell if that's what this giant is. It has big canes like a normal rose bush.
Any guess on what words I should enter into google to find a match?
Re: Giant rose bush
Good old youtube. I found something that seems close enough. I'm sharing it for anyone else who needs a tutorial.
