Weight gain?

Has anyone gained weight since their wedding?  I know bboooooo terrible question.  Most of you know all the stress I have been under and my recent loss.  Well now my hormones are out of whack and I can not control my weight gain!  I am embarrased to admit how much weight I have gained since our wedding but I have ZERO time to exercise right now.....Soon our move will be over and girl scout cookie season will be over and I will have my life back.  But in the mean time I am freaking out about what the scale says and how I can not fit into any of my pants any more....

  • Yes... I have... although it hurts to admit.  We moved too and that has taken all of my free time for exercise and I keep getting worse and worse with eating junky snacks.  I did 20-30 minutes of pilates type exercises in my living room yesterday morning and it felt SO GOOD.  I decided I need to work in 20 mintues every week day either in the morning or before I go to bed. Today the morning didn't happen so I need to do it tonight.  I think that'll be a good first step for me. 
  • Yyyyyyyyyeah... about 15 lbs here.  BUT here's how I justify it:

    1) I was on a low carb diet before.  Going off it always hurts. 

    2) all inclusive honeymoon resort.  'nuff said. 

    3) Christmas.  

    4) Training for a 5k.  I'm telling ya - I've gained more muscle weight from this than I have with any other exercise program.  It's beginning to go back down, though.

     

    But I"m working on it.  Lost four lbs already.

  • Same here, the pants are a little snug! However, I definitely lost some water weight when I went off the pill in January, so I'm sure your hormones are partially a factor. Thank god for that or I'd be a heiffer!

    LOL, not when I'm bulking up to the point where I can't fit into my pants, it's not!  

  • Yeah, I definitely put on about 7lbs.  I started slacking a lot after the wedding: Parisian food, Christmas, and a general I'm-not-planning-a-wedding-anymore laziness.  I've had a lot of stress for the last couple of months, too, trying to decide whether or not we were going to move and making scouting trips to NC to check things out. 

    But now that DH just got a great new job here, so we're just going to renew our lease: problem solved.  And then I started the Self magazine yearly challeng this week.  It's a lot of cardio and keeping a food diary, but I'm already feeling great!

  • I've lost weight, but I've been working really hard at it, and I definitely needed to do it. After the wedding I had no excuse not to - no wedding planning, no parties, etc. So I figured, if not now... when?

  • I've been around the same weight:( I really need to lose like 50lbs but cant bring myself to exercise. Once Spring hits I am going to really push myself.
  • I've actually lost weight. But only because I have been doing Weight Watchers and really really trying to lose. We're going on our honeymoon in July and I really want to look fantastic. However I just baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies...

  • About 10-15 pounds! Ugh! My "big jeans" are no longer by big jeans because they fit perfect boooooo. I have lost about 8lbs in 2 weeks though...2-3 of those have been in the past 2 days with this stomach bug (not complaining lol) I stopped going to the gym a month before the wedding and I plan on going back once the winter breaks, Winter really hasn't been a excuse though because we have had a mild winter compared to many!

  • I'm right there too unfortunately :(  From about 2 mths before the wedding till now I completely gave up... at first it was "I'm too busy", then it was "ooh, it's my honeymoon", then it was "ooh, it's the holidays" and now it's.... laziness....and 9 extra lbs! 

    A few people around me have recently started working out in the early AM, so I spontaneously decided to give it a try this morning.  I woke up at 5:20am and did 30 minutes of Wii Fit.  I'd like to lose about 40 pounds and I want to do it before we start TTC. 

    I'm so sick of myself and uncomfortable with my body.  I've always been heavy (even after I lose the 40lbs I'll still be overweight by average standards) but I'm at my very heaviest right now.  I really just want to get healthier and feel better.

    Good luck to all of us!  And way to go to those of you who are on track and losing!
