Fur Baby Haircuts

I gotta give Bosley a haircut tonight..... it's just so much easier to keep him and the house clean.....How many fur mommies groom their baby's whether a groomer or DIY?

Re: Fur Baby Haircuts

  • Our pugs just need their wrinkles and ears cleaned, their coats brushed and their nails clipped...no fancy hairdo required.  We mainly DIY although their nails grow super fast and we hadn't clipped them since Libby came home so they went to the groomers last week.
  • As a border collie, Maggie is meant to be a bit shaggy but we do keep her groomed.  We can't have a shaggie-maggie!  In the summer she swims constantly so we actually shave her really short.  She looks silly, but incredibly cute.  Keeps her cool since she's black, and dries quickly.  I let the groomer do it.
  • Ours are both fairly short haired, so there's not much maintenance required (honestly I wouldn't want a long haired dog - I know I'm not dedicated enough for the grooming it would need). We just wash 'em occasionally. I know I probably should still groom them - the stimulation is good for blood flow etc - but I don't. Embarrassed
  • I have a maltese, Frosty.  He loves dirt, mud, water and weeds.  He wears a 'puppy cut' compliments of the groomer, but I bathe him every week because he is such a dirty boy!
  • Our dog is a lab mix, and her fur is the short, bristly type.  We do bathe her fairly regularly (because she loves to fling herself on...well..doo doo most of the time), and I brush her about once a week, mainly b/c she is shedding like mad right now.  And I've started brushing her teeth every day.  Did you know that a deep teeth cleaning at the vet can cost nearly $400?!?!  Holy crikey!
  • My dog has short hair but sheds crazy!!!  How can I decrease the amount of hair he sheds?
