Hi Phoenix ladies, a question :)

My Mom and Aunt are taking a trip next week starting in Phoenix.  My Aunt is the hugest Canucks fan. ever. and they are playing the Coyotes while there.  So they are trying to find the easiest way to get to the arena.  I guess there is a shuttle that costs 20 bucks per person or taking a cab would be 30 from where they are staying.  Any other suggestions?  From what they can tell there isn't public transit that goes there.  Is there something they are missing?

Also the tickets they got say that it is "all you can eat" do you know what that actually is?  Like all the hot dogs and peanuts they can eat? Or is there some buffet set up?

Any how, obviously not urgent just a matter of curiousity really.  :)  Thanks in advance.

Re: Hi Phoenix ladies, a question :)

  • I don't know anything about the Hockey games so I can't help you out about the "all you can eat".

Are they staying in Phoenix? There's a Lightrail that goes through the city that's really cheap. If they are staying in Phoenix, I don't know why it wouldn't have said that as Public Transportation. It's worth looking into.

  • What part of Phoenix are they staying in? We live in Chandler and it takes about a hour to get to the Arena from where we live and we drive there. The buses are good, so I hear. I know there are two places they can pick you up at but we haven't tried it. I don't recommend taking a cab, that would be so much money unless it's down the street.

The all you can eat is Soda (a small one), Hot Dogs, Peanuts and I think Popcorn. I saw that when I was there last night. It's a pretty good deal if they like to eat. The cost of the food is kind of expensive. I paid 10.50 just for nachos and a large drink. Crazy.

The light rail doesnt go that far into Glendale or even near Jobing.com Arena. Just buses.

I didn't know it was in Glendale...I thought their Hockey stadium was by the other stadiums in Phoenix. haha

  • It used to be downtown at america west arena or whatever the hell it's called now, until they built the jobing.com one at westgate

Are they not going to rent a car or anything? It's really hard to get around this city without one. Parking is free and getting there is all freeway, I'd definitely recommend just driving themselves

I still call it America West Arena, now it's US Airways Center.

Driving would be the best thing though, it is ALL freeway out there. Unless you miss your exit like I did last night. haha
