Anyone used Truffles and Trifles?

They offer cooking classes here in Orlando and I signed DH and I up for one of their classes.  Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them?

Re: Anyone used Truffles and Trifles?

  • My MIL gave me a gift certificate there one Christmas (probably 5 years ago or so). I took the Christmas cookie class. I cant' say I learned too much since you break off into groups and everyone makes a different item. I did learn how to make marshmallows from scratch... which really isn't that difficult! It's an older lady who owns it and she's a bit set in her ways.... don't think about cooking the way your use to doing stuff.... she's not afraid to yell at you either! lol.... All-in-all I'm sure you guys will have a good time and a good laugh. I know my mom and I did!
  • LOL....I was noticing her "rules" on the website and thinking..."wow, they seem strict".  We have wanted to learn to make sushi for a while now, so I signed us up.  Hopefully we'll learn something.  We just need to get out of the house!
  • My husband and I have done their date nights many times. I love it there! It's a lot of fun. Bring some wine and expect to eat a ton! You'll get a recipe book with all of the recipes that were cooked that evening...many recipes I've gotten are in my regular rotation!! I hope you have a great time :)
  • Try not to take Marci (the owner) too seriously...you'll enjoy the heck out of her that way! Just don't take the whole evening so seriously...relax, cook, eat and enjoy time spent with your spouse and other foodies! I think you'll have a better time if you go to have fun then if you go to "learn to cook"!

  • Good to know!  I will definitely bring a bottle of wine to enjoy while we are there.  We definitely are looking at is as a fun night out of the house!
  • Yes! I'm sure you'll have a fun night out. My friends recently took a class there and had someone other than Marci teaching the class... they enjoyed it very much!
  • We went recently, and had fun. The owner lady is funny - as ebi said, take her lightly, and you'll have fun!

The food was delicious, but I didn't learn a ton either. :) Enjoy yourself!

  • Glad it was fun.  We are just looking for a fun night out of the house!
