So I talked to my brother last night and they're moving him. We knew they were going to be moving everyone in his prison because they were bringing in prisoners from PA (VA doesn't keep out of state inmates with instate inmates). They were supposed to move him today. I have no idea where they will be moving him. And neither does he - he'll find out whenever he gets to where he is going.
I just checked the Virginia DOC site and it still has him listed in GROC which means they either haven't updated the system or they haven't moved him yet. I'm worried though because he was really antsy last night on the phone and very worried about where he might end up (he really liked this place, the people and the guards) and he really doesn't do well with the moving and re-intake and getting settled. It really upsets him and his whole routine.
I'm really hoping he gets to come somewhere closer to home...but I'm so afraid that he'll be further south in VA (which is hard because he's almost to NC but he could go further south to almost the TN border).
Can you guys send him some wonderful nestie dust that everything goes smoothly with his move and that he handles it well because I really hate for him to be so upset when he's all by himself.
thanks guys
Re: Ugh.
oh man, that sucks! definitely sending him nestie vibes that he has a quick transfer and gets settled without too much drama.
funny that you posted this. we got a call from my dad yesterday, and it was his day to move him to West Virginia. he was on the plane and everything, and they called him off, he got bumped to move someone else. he was the only one who got bumped...we were relieved b/c he's back in Miami now and maybe will be here when the baby comes so he can meet the baby before he is moved. i also feel bad, though, because he so utterly bored, i know once he gets to a camp and has a job, he will be a lot happier.
good luck to your brother and your family. how fantastic if he can get even closer to you guys! i hope the move isn't too traumatic for him.
I know what you mean about being bored! When they started bringing in the PA prisoners they started preparing the VA guys for transport and took away their jobs so my brother was all upset that he "lost" his job and couldn't do anything.
I'm glad your dad got bumped from his transport yesterday - I didn't realize they were going to move him so soon! I was hoping it would take forever (because they told George in December they were moving him and here we are in March...DOC is not generally quick lol!). I hope he ends up staying closer to home since his sentence is so short I've got my fingers crossed for you guys!
Sending T&Ps and nestie dust that he gets moved closer to you guys and that everything goes smoothly.
Also sending dust for Jen that her dad doesn't get moved until after the baby comes.
